I would like to start a review of Electronics, starting with the ESCs. Lets start with a list of what your running, and your overal take of it.

I run the Novak Rooster Crawler. So far its a pretty nice ESC. It has a great reverse and forward response is fast, and the neutral brake is very nice. On steep inclines it seems to hold nicely. I will be conducting more note taking and tests with it the more I play with the Speed Control.

I am running a Tazer 15T as a stand in til i get my Castle Creations Sidewinder up and running.
The Tazer sucks there is a huge delay between rev and foward, almost no brake and it laggggggs.
Running it with a Integ 55t v10, 15tooth pinion and fut transmittter

I'm running a Mamba Sidewinder, today was the first day in the field. It performed great, nice response between forward/brake/reverse. Take off is nice and smooth, with no hesitation or studder. I had the drag brake set at 50% and it seemed just about right, I could basically stop at any point and it would just sit. I know some crawlers feel the need to add a BEC to get the servo up to 6v, but I don't feel it's necessary after crawling today. I'm running a JR Z650M servo, it should be putting out about 120oz with the 5v the Sidewinder is sending to it. I love the Castle Creation ESCs because of the computer interface, I run them in several of my fast movers as well. Well, it was my first day crawling, but I'd recommend a Sidewinder for anyone building or upgrading.
My rig is running a Integy 60T motor, 14/87 gearing, Spektrum RX/DX3.0, Glitch Buster Cap, and (6) EP1500 2/3 A battery packs.

I had a Goat but had to send it back b/c the motor burnt. Performance was great, it has alot of adjustment. Until it gets back I bought a rooster, it works very well to.

I too am running a Novak Rooster Crawler. As stated above it has proven to be a great esc for crawling. I have had a couple glitches here and there under low throttle but I am not running a glitch buster on my receiver. I think that will stop the glitch issue.

I had the same with an AM radio, now that I am at 2.4, it is a pretty smooth ESC for sure!

I'm running a Mamba Max with a Integy 55t lathe and it's like butter smooth... The configuration adjustment is just awesome... I haven't messed to much with some setting yet though. love the instant reverse without pause or hesitation.
I am also swapping it out between the AX-10 and an HPI sprint 2 drift with a castle creations 4600kv brushless... what can I say about this setup....
AWESOME.... even with tires spinning like mad, it flies....
However I think I will end up getting a sidewinder for the ax10 to leave in it permanently and leave the Max in the drifter...

I am running a Tekin FXr and I love it. THis is the second one that I have got..the first I had to return because it lost its drivers to the *something* banks. I know that having to return something doesnt always give it a good reputation but when you call the company and talk to them for about an hour trading secrets and just general chit chat...then they send you a NIB with no ?'s ask it tends to leave a mark in your mind. I am totally happy with the FXr the brake on it is very strong and making changes to the settings is very simple and can be done without a computer. Its smaller than anything else out there for crawlin and when backed with the best customer support I have seen it gets a # 1 with me:thumb:

Quark 33 Pro
Absolutely the best brushless ESC, except for the reverse delay. Very smooth, easy to program. I ran it with a Holmes Revolver Black.
I always ran an external BEC.

I am using the tazer 15t ,got it for less than $30 at ZNZ hobbies. Made a 8 cell 2500ma battery out of some AA Nicad batteries I got from walmart..the speed control is only rated for seven cells..But with my 45t motor ,the speed control only gets slightly warm when I go really slow...Its a real good speed control for the money....I do not like the delay from forward to reverse ,It takes way to long. But over all I am happy with it

For a 2.2 there is no need to go brushless.
