I have a set of IMEX Rubicon tires that came with memory foam. I installed them on stock AX beadlocks. I have drilled two 1/8" holes in each wheel and added two full laps of stick on wheel weights.
Couple of issues I have ran into.
The side lugs are NASTY which is cool but it makes for a hard edge tire (not much tire flex)
Second, the foot print is wide and flat. Might be great on dirt or dirt covered rocks but add that to the hard edge and it makes for a less conforming tire.
This is also my first set of memory foams. IMO I like regular foams cut down and modified.
Another issue with this setup is the foams do not fully reach the tire in the center but are crammed in the corners. So the center of the tread is slightly loose.
Id like to figure out a way to increase the flexibility of these tires if possible.
I have read where people have cut foams and memory foams and made oreo's out of them by using memory in the center and regular foam glued to the sides; however I have read no real results if this works or not. I have also read where people have punched or drilled holes in their tires to assist in its plyability/flexability.
Please share your tire tuning ideas, what worked, what hasn't

Trial and error... :)
Tire foams are one of those things that heavily rely on your rigs set up. Depending on set up will dictate what foams you want to run.
I star cut my axial stock foams and ran that in a set of Rock Claws on my AX10. It was a heavy rig, and this combo made the tires hook up. I ran Ultra Firm Gray foams from proline with stretched 1 inch wide memories around them. Not much on sidewall, but hooked up in the middle. Stock Panther non memory foams from with Panter Cougors seem to work great on both semi heavy to heavy rigs. The bergs have a lot of weight on the axles, so running slightly stronger or firmer foam may be needed...
As you can see the options are dependant to what your set up currently is. Run something and try something new... test in the same spot and try to develope your results based off as much of a controled enviroment as possible.

Here are the two tires side by side. Stock on the right and IMEX on the left. The stock has cut foams and two holes in the wheel. The IMEX are on the same kind of rims with holes and uncut memory foams.
Notice how flat and wide the IMEX are.

IMEX sitting on a dip can. Note you can see the full gold ring at the top of the can.

Same photo but with the stock tires. Notice how the tire wraps around the can.

Couple of shots of how stiff the sidewalls are on the new tires.

The side walls of the IMEX are nasty but they dont wrap around the object well.

Umm... any ideas how I can put some flexability in these tires? Regular foams? Cut the memory foams? Cut some lugs off the tires?

Try a set of proline memory foams...
If the rubber just isn't pliable on its on... foams will only stiffin that up...
Bout the next best things is new tires.
I havn't heard great things about the Imex tires in Comp crawling. Most folks stick to the Losi, Panther, Prolines, HB, HPI for Comp crawling.

I ordered these because I got them for 4.99 a pair with free shipping and they came with the memory foams..... not bad.
I might cut some lugs and see if that will free them up some. after that I will prob stick some soft regular foams in there.

I got a chance to play around in the inch deep snow this morning. The stockers kinda sucked, switched to the IMEX and they rocked in the powder.
Atleast there good for something.
