Looks like Freedom Mill rd. Has a large ridge just off the road.

its been a while for me too , but as Doug said..always finding dead folks up there..

Best I remember there si some good areas though.
Another place Im going to check out is Rock Creek Park in Albemarle.. I think there is several places towards Albemarle/Troy/ Norwood Area that would be ideal. Im down that way quite a bit so I will start looking as I go

Well if the title is any indication then Rock Park might just be another place. Check it out...

yup it's a popular spot for the rock climbing. It would be nice if it turned into a rock crawling area too...

Maybe we can stress how few people die a year while rock crawling. :jester:

I think 2 people went down at Bullhole.... :)

I wonder how the water is on the south Yadkin... wonder if it will be high due to rain on Friday and Saturday??

Rather it's more like people who climb that fall.

I think the actual Climbers fair a bit better.

There is one lower section, and parts of the back side that do flood a bit. Its not bad, and still do able, but it does take a few lower crawl spots away.

I'll try to get over to Crowders Mtn. one day. I work in Kingsmountain, which is not very far from Crowders Mtn. I'm guessing U fellas mean Crowders Mtn. state park. I've been to the top of Crowders mountain, but that's a hike to be doing some crawling and if ya did take a rig up there if it went over the edge it would be another dead body at the bottom! Let me know where ya'll are talking about.

Well I guess all of you are at Bullhole about now. Ya dogs!!!:bash: Anyway, I went by Crowders Mtn. Friday. I did not see anything from the road other than plenty of No Parking signs. I stopped in several of the parking areas, but did not have time to be hiking trials. I did find a supply area with piles of mulch, gravel, sand, and Rip Rap. All steps they have made have Rip Rap on the sides of the steps. I'm sure there has to be some places there, but just need to be found. I'll go back there next week sometime. I'll keep everyone post on what I find!

Okay here's the update on Crowders mtn. I went back there today. There is nothing from the road. I went to one of the parking areas. I seen a park ranger and ask him about it. He told me of a couple places that may have rocks to crawl on. One place is at Crowders Creek which feeds into a lake there. There was a picture on a display map of the rocks at the creek. The other place is up a trail to the top. And yeah I seen lots of guys with rock climbing gear, so there may be bodys to crawl over(LOL). The only problem the ranger said with the trail is most of the rocks have sharp edges, meaning it has quick drops from each edges to the next edge and they are like big rocks. Also he said it was about half a mile to the top and it's about half a mile up too!! So maybe a little hike to get up there. He also noted if there was intrest in holding a comp there, someone need to contact the park superintendent before having a comp. I plan on making the hike one day to see just how many bodys(LOL) and how many place there maybe.:thumb:
