I have heard that the axles New seem to be a bit tight.... and it wears out of this tightness after a few runs...
Does it still move through the tight spot, or does it take a lot of force to move it through?

Its real hard to spin from the hex side with your fingers ,no wheel ,not so bad from the motor side

I would put some wheels on it.... spin it a few good times and then open the case and look for wear on the gears... just to make sure its all seated and see where the wear is...
if its not eating up the gears then slap some grease on it and see how it does...
You have no motors on it right?

Did you take the bergs apart to locktight the tube screws and locker screws yet? Its a necessity. Also while in there you can see if there are any metal shavings that may be causing the binding you speak of.
On my HRs, I did notice that one time two case screws were a little loose causing less than a milimeter of movement. But it was enough to cause my gears to bind like you described.

My Hot axles had a light binding in one spot when they were new too. A little bit of RockSmith gear jelly and things are smoother and quieter now.
I also have heard of a few guys using toothpaste to runs the gears in, smooth and quiet, things out with their Berg axles. Smell's nice on the rocks too. :)
