Just need some information if it is better to run the AX10 with bent links front and rear with the bent side coming from the motor or run the straight links. I've been running the staight links to help protect the driveshafts and they tend to be scrapping a lot of rocks and is the cause of some hangups. The one thing I have to do with the bent links was change the mounting hole to the middle which raised my rig 1/4" to make sure the drive shaft was protected. Thanks for any help.

I am going to say its about preference these days...
You can get a set of tires that put your axles up high for clearance, about the same as bent links do...
I ran them all around, semi spring (if you run a low semi sprung, or droop, you will be longer than 12.5 inches, and not legal for comps with stock chassis and skid).
I kept spare drive shafts and for each comp, put new ones on. You can get Traxxas Stampede axle shafts to use as drive shafts pretty cheap... so I didn't care about hitting them too much on the rocks!

Silas when I change from the straight to bent links it also will change the length of my rig.... not to get off topic but the rules for stock 2.2 says can not be less than 12.5". If that is the min. length is there a max. or does the truck have to be 12.5" exact?

12.5 is actually the MAX, not the MIN.

You'll know when it's too short ;)
But no, I dont think there is a minimum. I'll check my rulebook in a sec. though. My rig shortened up quite a bit when I added different links at one time. About 11.5" if I remember correctly. Wouldnt climb a lick. :bash:

Thanks.... just not sure what to do. Right now I have the 98mm straight links front and rear which puts me at 12.25" with 2.5" ground clearance. Not sure if I want to run the 101mm or 98mm bent links front and rear. I would like to get a little more ground clearance. I think the 101mm would put me right at the 12.5" max and give me a little more ground clearance.
