Everyone is just a lot, I mean a little scared of anything that starts with RC4WD.

If you get the Billet V4 then you should be fine unless your ruthless with it. The cast versions are way too heavy in my opinion.

So what made you choose Bullys over Bergs & HRs?

I considered those , I like the overall axle but with a new version every two weeks or so I decided to just go with the proven bergs . People don`t call them RC3WD for nothing , on the other hand if you are a gambling man then ....

I think cost was the issue. Too bad you missed the TCS sale on berg axles.....

I was hoping someone else had done that. I've about decided on them, I just got to sell my body this weekend to get them. Will a pro-max cobalt motor fit? Or is that to much juice for these? Has anyone checked out the new dig computer from punckrc.com. I think this would allow me to use a 2 motor set-up and dig with traxxes 3 channel radio. Am I right. I'd love to be able to hook up a moa rig without haveing to buy a $400 radio and rx.

Thanks

No thanks on the Savage.

Yup, I am working on some other new things now. May pick up the 1.9 soon.

I will let everyone know how it works out. I am going to try it and if I don't like it I will go with the Novak when it is available.

Update. Got the Bully's a while ago. Ran them for like 30mins and sent them back. All kinds of issues. Got a new set in the mail that had been approved by "Rob". and sent to me. I locktied(?) the shat out of them, and started with the rebuild. I made my chassie out of .090 lexan to be a torsion front and rear. It broke, so I flipped it around and made it torsion front and shocks in the rear. It's working really good for me. Got the crawler1 foams in and they are great. Turning 35 motors with punk dig. I'm cheap so, TQ3 with a toggle, Novak Super Rooster, no name 1500 3s, micro traxxs rx. Works pretty good. I've good some good drive time in on it and I'm dialing it in now. I took it out to the Bullhole yesterday and it was working flawless.

A few things and maybe somebody can help me out with them.

First--I have no BEC and no lipo cut-off. I normally just use a "blinky" on the battery to tell me when it's low.

----My ESC get's super hot after about 15mins of crawling and servo warms up

I was hoping a BEC was the answer, but I also don't have endpoints for the steering and I've put a gear set in the servo once and it's not sounding to good after Bullhole.

Always something.

My guess is that you are overheating the internal BEC on the Rooster. I don't believe that it is meant to hold that much current. I would put and external BEC on.

Going to try it. Would not having a BEC kill the battery faster also?

Rooster is only rated for 2s... so thats one issue, then the draw of 2 35t on the rooster is another. Not having a BEC wouldn't really draw more power, with the BEC you would draw more when running the motors and turning at the same time... BEC helps deliver a solid amount of current to the servo, where using the Built in BEC would eat into the servo, making it weaker when turning both servo and motors at the same time.

I would bump up to a Mamba, FXR or something a bit stronger than the Rooster, though its a great ESC, just not built for your application now.

So the Super Rooster will not go up in smoke due to the battery, right? Where is the heat coming from? BEC.

The internal BEC is 6V/3A. Not enough amperage based on the battery you are running. I would bet that you are just overheating the internal BEC. get an external one and that should take care of a lot of the heat

Have you run the Bully2's much yet? I have about 6 or 7 hours on mine now, and if you havn'e already, keep a close eye on the bolts for the steering knuckles. The first several packs, I checked them about every 20 minutes or so. They were loose every time. So, I'd apply locktite to the bolts, let it dry, and then install them. I think I finally got enough on them, because after my last comp, I checked again and they were still tight.

I know there were some issues with these on RCC. I would suggest just keeping a close eye on 'em.

Other than that, I'm loving my Bullys. Hope you have similiar success with your's.

hey

You can just use red Loctite and your done. You will just need a heat gun to take them back out.

Still having heat? I told you I'd sell you my extra mamba monster, promise you won't overheat that mo-fo!! It's just big, but proably smaller than what your using now. Or just buy a MM or sidewinder, sell one of your dogs for the $$
