I have been having issues with my 8cell saddle pack loosing voltage during runs. I just came across this thread looking for some input on them.

Lee is having the same issues that I am.

I heard mine vent/small hissing when I took it off Lee's 989 charger last weekend. That was their 2nd charge, & 2nd charge at 1.5 amps. They came off @ 130 degrees.

Guess I'll try charging a 1.0 amp next time. But I read at RCC that some still do it a 1.o as well.

How much voltage are you losing during runs? How are you measuring it?

Edit: I have charged them at 1.5amps & discharged at 1.5amps twice since last weekend. They dont get as warm on my 977 and I have not heard them venting either.

I have not had the any issues thus far on mine.... I have ran them a good 8 to 10 cycles. Last charge cycle, they only reached 80* and maxed out at 1836 mAh.

I will be watching them. My 6 cells seemed to vent a little... and they would reach 100*, but thats right at the end of a charge.

no probs so far with my 2 8 cell packs... I have put at least 15 cycles or more per pack and at 1.5

However I think I may have to place them in something to charge from now on, instead of leaving them attached to the rig...

just a quick ? guys . Did you order from TSC ? and what color is the shrink wrap (clear or black)?

the reason I ask is the ones with the black wrap seem fine for lee but his clear pack and mine are suspect.

BA4R- are you still having esc issues...?

My receiver has come unbound from my radio twice, but outside of that no ESC related problems.

My clear pack 8 cells seem fine as of now. I only have about 4 runs through them though.

Yeah, I'm gonna rebuild one of the ones we've been having problems with battery bars instead of those dinky strips and see if that helps. I have two, one with clear and one with black shrink, the clear gives me problems and the other one doesn't. I thought I was having ESC problems to begin with, but I've isolated it to the battery pack.
