I love my Sidewinder's performance and adjustability and it's not terrible brand new at $70. That's a shame about your Rooster...I hate when stuff like that happens.

Well the SW is the model. They make them in kits with brushless motors and such, you will just need the ESC.

Fully programable with software, just remember you must have XP (vista is a bit flaky or it just doesn't work well with Vista). You can set your drag brake to anything :)

I really like my sidewinder. You can set drag, change throttle curves, set punch and much more it works with both brushed or brushless.

I haven't had any problems with Vista and Castle Link. What did it do to you?

I am running 64 bit Vista, and I can't get anything with USB to work :)
I heard Scarface having issues as well, but not sure if he is running 32 or 64 bit.
Thats all...just won't install!

hey
The castle link will not work with many people Vista OS.
About the Side Winder, there are two models, one is just a mamba 25 with a new sticker.
You want the 1/10 Side Winder, I just put one in my scale truck, (have not run it yet) I have no idea how they perform. I was surprized that they have a larger foot print then a mamba Max.

I wonder if it has anything to do with the version? I seriously have had no problems with any of the CC stuff or anything USB for that matter. The ghost admin popup crap is fairly annoying, but otherwise it's been pretty good. Mine is fairly new (2 months) and the "Home Premium" edition, it's the OS that came with my laptop.

I think its more of the 32bit vr 64bit. I have had a few folks switch and say they can run certian things better at 32.
I am running Ultimate 64bit which is the top of the chain OS. It has USB problems like you wouldn't beleive. Its not an OEM release either, I bought it and installed on my custom built PC.

I got a new computer with Vista OS at Christmas this year. However, all the Mamba Max programming was performed at S & L's Modification & Mayhem.
I will have to give it a try on my own computer and see if we can track down the issue with Vista if there is one.

Well as luck would have it I have a brand new in box Castle Sidewinder ESC with Castle link and software. If you are interested I have it listed for sale over at Carolina Rock Runners forum for $65 bucks if your interested. Its a $90 dollar value with the castle link. I also have a New CC BEC you will need if you run a high torq servo. I did'nt need that either the rooster has the BEC built in. I can't list it here because I'm not a paying Member yet. Its New Bought it from CKRC 2 months ago and desided not to use it. I have Roosters in all my stuff and wanted to keep them all the same. with CC BEC I'll let it all go for $75 and free shipping. Just go over to the other sight and post sold and send payment to the paypal info in my post if you deside you want it. You will have to be a member to see it. Hope this helps.
Again all parts are brand New In box, 1 Sidewinder ESC plus Castle link and software and a Castle BEC all for $75.00 you will not buy it cheaper.
