I like squishy tires.
I installed memory foam w/ hammers up front. 1 week later, foam is gone, air soft pellets back in. plus I get a little extra weight.
The Panters do looks pretty soft. Maybe too soft?? Check out the debris sticking to the sidewall. :monkeyeye:

Looks like they really like this tire over there at RCC. You may have found yourself a winner here John Don.
I do like the way they sit.....

I just do not have the $ to keep up with all these new tires.
'side note' The Flatirons did not make some of the climbs that alot of other tires made at the last comp. Uncut, they are not useable as a comp tire on rocks. With every second lug cut, they climb much better.

im not a big tire buyer but these look so promising, they seem to be a mix between claws and the hammers.......

I will agree that the buying tires everytime a set comes out is getting costly...I will keep the hammer m2's I ordered...I hope that the Panthers SUCK :jester:

I did not do these myself...I have narrowed tires before along time ago. Sharp scalpel steady hand...then glue back together...take a old inner tube and glue and line the inside. With tire companys coming out with softer compounds I would say it's harder than the old clod tires.

I've been really wanting to try out the Panther's AND the new Flat Iron's. However, I just recently scored a set of new Moab M3's on new PL 8-Shooters so................
Flat Iron's or Panther's will be my next purchase. TIRES ONLY  I'm still on the fence though.

I think if your looking for a comp tire do the panthers if it's more for a scale trail look Flats...

this is true... the panthers looked sick today on the rocks!
after having the panthers out on the trail for the first time this weekend it was a big supriz how well they did agains silas's hammers......both of our rigs are set up in the same suspinsion fashion (the only diff. is he has a dig and mine dosent)..........most of the time when we had a tuff vertical climb silas had to give it just a tad more gas to get up the same section i just did......and i think the panthers added more ground clearance to my rig to help it over some stuff easier. pluse im only running 5oz in the front tires (10oz in my old claws) and 3 oz in the rear (6 oz in the old claws)

What compound is Silas running?
Silas

I am running M3 with M3 memories...
I had less sidewall issues then I did with my claws... I like the hammers... but really don't perform much different than the rock claws did.

Cool. I didn't know if you had decided to go with the M2s.
Are the Panthers considered a stickier compound than the M3 Hammers or Moabs?

The Cougars come in 3 compounds... DDS got the Softs I think...but will let him answer to that.
I do know that his compound feels like the M3s do new... but after the M3s loose some of the stickyness... they just don't feel as soft.
I am leaning toward the theory that its 80% compound (both foams and rubber) and 10% tread with 10% being rim choice/weights.
They are a bit taller tire which helps a lot I think.
DDS got the Softs I think....
red dot soft is the comp im running along with panthers memory foam
