I got a hong kong special off e-bay. 2200 Mah--11.1 volt--3 cell--25C. The BEST mod yet. It's like adding 300hp to your rig, like adding nitro to a gas motor. I can pull the front tires off the ground on carpet with a 75t integy motor. On the first charge it took about 30mins to charge the battery. I now have about a hour on it and its like I just pulled it off the charger. Now it just jumps over rocks.
Folks, you need to do whatever you can to go to high voltage and lipo power. With the 25C rating it gives you full power when you pull it from a full battery to a dead battery. The battery never gets hot, nor does the motor, esc, or leads. My servo loves it to. I have it set-up with a tekin r2. Don't waste your money on the 2 cell lipo, make the move to 3 or maybe 4. A 4 cell lipo would be mad, like a big block with twin turbos.
Not kidding. I really think I can make real tire smoke now. But I did break 3 driveshafts in about 30mins.
GOT LIPO?

I have a 3 cell, 20c, 11.1v 2100mah pack on mine with a 45t. It's downright fast! It'll pull wheelies and almost jump. I've upgraded to Traxxas 'pede shafts & yokes, but I'm finding other stuff to break!

I understand what you are saying..Wheel speed is important in crawling,(If this a trail truck etc Ignore the next part) but sometimes too much can get you into trouble. For example You are in between gates in a comp..You get in a lil jam so you punch it..then that excessive wheel speed got you out of that one but put you in a worse predicament for the next one because it could have caught a edge etc and flipped you over etc..I think you know what I mean.
Im not saying its bad.. For those of you who know me know Im a speed junky..I run a 9.6 v set up in my rig and I think its almost too much..
Just my .02
BTW.. Ihave a 3s 11v Lipo sitting on my bench. while its tempting..I just cant make myself do it:)

I think if I decide to go lipo I will stick to 7.4, 11.1 is just to much for my style of crawling. Now Carey on the other hand like the punch and his tires (Flat Irons) work better with a little wheel speed in some spots. But as for now I am happy with my set-up now that I got my glitch out of it.

I agree that the 11.1v is more than is needed. My controller lets me have a ton of control over throttle curves & End points, etc. When I try to compete (1st comp will be middle of the month), I'll probably back the throttle down to about 85% - 90% to keep it from getting too nutty.

I just broke the rear out drive after upgrading to pede shafts.
I love the power. I don't care I can back off on my driving style, but I need the power. If you don't break something, you ain't wheelin hard enough.
