Neighbors Gas Station -
8400 Norcross Road (Corner of Sandy Ridge/I-40) High Point, NC
Around the entire back parking lot, and some larger rocks strewn around the property. I had permission one day, don't think they would care, but I would either ask permission or forgiveness...whatever your pleasure.

Mendenhall Oaks Parkway/Hwy 68 (High Point, NC)
There are a bunch rocks scattered around the lake that is behind the offices/Truliant Federal Credit Union, etc. Behind the large building at 4339 Mendenhall Oaks is a double waterfall with rocks all over. Never asked permission here, but I would only go on Sat. or Sun. when you are less likely to run into the working folk.

High Point City Lake Park
There is a big square wooded area by the Merry Go Round and it has rocks all around the perimeter. Good place for running rip/rap lines and not having to stand in one spot. Some larger rocks, but we don't find many large rock areas in the Triad so you just have to take what you can get.:monkeyeye:

I live in Kernersville and work in Winston. Used to work at Colfax Trailer. Just down the road from Neighbors Fuel Station. Some nice rocks to play on, I hit them regularly when I was working there.

Ditto, I run my own business so I can check out pretty much anytime/anyday. Unfortunately, time doesn't allow for me to drive all the way to Pilot Mtn. or one of the other locations, so something convenient is what I take advantage of most of the time.

five-0 you must be close by.... ive spied each of these spots as well as some others youve posted.

X2 for mendenhall office complex. Across from the Lakeside complex is Streamside and theres a hot dry creekbed as well as a currently non-functioning section of waterfall/stream. Good stuff! enough to blow a shock and tweak the cage :D

did someone say pics???

Anyone in the Triad interested in crawling some on Saturday or Sunday, say around 12-12:30 timeframe? May hit a few different spots but will likely start at Mendenhall Oaks Parkway in HP.

Sorry Hector, got the message late yesterday afternoon. I went to NG/Hobbs today and all I found was a concrete pile across from the bank in the lot that is being developed. But it was enough to snap my steering knuckle....pissed.

Good excuse to order the aluminum ones, but didn't get to play much at all.

I am going to try and check out the other two locations you mentioned. When you said Mendenhall, I thought you meant Mendenhall Oaks Parkway in High Point. There is a pretty big waterfall behind the large office building nearest the Penn Station lot, right by the small lake/pond.

The two piles of of broken up curbing that were scrapp'd for that project next to a pile of asphalt is what ive been crawling. Oh yeah i got a habit of finding some nasty stuff to play on ;) That and the panthers have been rough on the drivetrain.

Mendenhall is the high point location on HWY 68.
Right beside penn station is the Trulliant credit union with small pond ive crawled. The office you mention with waterfall is at the Lakeside complex.
Across the street (Intersect of meeting way and Mendehall oaks Pkwy) not the preschool side is another office named Streamside.(behind chop house grill sort of) between those two buildings is the waterfall I posted now flowing at 50%. For the scalers there is a long a** stream 6' x 100' less "hardcore" as well as some random bolders to crawl.

I was back at Lindley park and got an address and had a lil fun too. Too bad I knocked out my brand new LEDs I picked up from Matt.

And also found this spot the other day on my first bike ride since knee surgery. Decent access by car On tarrant road 100 ft from intersection with West Wendover. Gravel pad, 100 foot walk to greenway, LEFT, walk to intersection with main greenway and downstream left and right are NICE.

I picked up some new Axial aluminum C-hub carriers and went to Mendenhall at lunchtime today...love that Streamside spot you mentioned. My scaler was truly put to the test, but held up beautifully. Have to go in to work for a bit tomorrow, but may try to stop off somewhere afterwards.

Less than 60yrds up stream of the greenway location mentioned off of Tarrant Rd. is a large exposed bedrock section in the bend in the river. Great spot too. Some nice ledges and some tricky lines by the waters edge.
