Well instead of replacing my wore out stock 3 link mount I decided to try fab skills and see if could make some 4 link mounts. I think they turned out pretty good for my first set. Also since Im running my ESC on the bacl axle now I have been worried about it getting beat off the rocks so I made a skid plate for it as well.
Here's a few pics, let me know what you guys think.

Ya I enjoy it, it makes it alot easier now with the drill press, now just waiting on the band saw & belt sander to get here. Its a little tuff at times working with just a Dremal. I went through 3 reinforced cut-off wheels for my Dremal making those plates.:)

How's the flex. Kingcrawler made some 4 link plates last week and he felt it gave the truck to much flex. But he done the one link on top and one on bottom type setup. I see both of yours are mounted on the underside of the plate. When I build the new GC2 chassis I'll have a true 4 link then as well. I personally think the 4 link is the way to go if setup right.

Well I think this is my best set-up by far. Depends on how much flex you think is to much, I think it is perfect torque flex is a thing of the past now, I also have my suspension set-up in a droop and it works awsome as well. I think I will leave it alone for awhile since it is at a point where I like how well it Crawls. So I guess Im very happy with the 4 link plates I would suggest it.:)
Here's a few pics flexed out. Let me know if you think that is to much.:thumb:

Uhhh, that's not exactly a droop spring setup.
That's more flex than I have. As for proper amount of flex, only way to know if it's right is to play with it. When mine flexed like crazy, I found that it would get bound up between rocks too easily and usually resulted in a broken link end. I now have less than 45* between both axles (about enough to drive over a another crawlers tire while keeping the other 3 on the ground), and I'm happy with it.

Well if its not a droop then what would you call it? I know I dont have the cool crawler lingo you do.:finger1: So please let me know the correct Crawler word that you would use for it.

A droop setup (full or 100% droop) has the shocks at a fully compressed or drooped position at normal ride height. This allows for no compression of the shock. This is accomplished by either having an internal spring below the piston or no springs at all. I'm running a full droop setup with the Integy shocks and the soft internal springs.
Hopefully, it'll be nice at least one day this week, and I can see how your rig works w/ the new link plates. :thumb:

Ok I see what you meen by droop now, well I guess mine is just limited to the amount of travel out they have. Ya its not looking good this week for a shakedown run, hope its nice for the Comp's Sunday.:thumb:
