Sweet!

I've been drooling over that chassis since it was first available for pre-order. How much ground clearance do you have at the center of the skid?

Definately give us a review of the chassis once you get a chance to run it!

Funny you ask I looked at the pics and had to measure again...it looks really tall but It's only hair over 2 3/4" in the center and a hair under 3" at the ends of the chassis(I really like the convex center)

yeah, that convex center should help get off of rocks if high centered.

Some of the girls at the club where I worked would sometimes wear a slingshot bikini. :thumb:

Your slingshot looks pretty sexy too Tom.

Are you still running stockish shocks w/ internal springs? You didnt list the steering servo.......did it get the Hitec 5955TG?

Oh yeah, you "goofed" on your thread title. Should have read "Got VF Slingshot". Mind changing that for me? Consistency is the name of the game buddy :monkeyeye:

Hey shocker, I don't think if he puts "Got" before the VF Slingshot Thread it will still get more views than The famous "Got a BJ" Thread!!! LMAO!!!!:

I got the delrin VF high clearance lowers and xtrc delrin straight uppers...I like the way the suspension cycled better with the straight uppers.

Sweet I thought that looked like Delrin, I was wondering if you made them yourself and was wondering how the Delrin is to bend, but I guess you bought them bent huh?

Have you run the Slingshot yet? Care to post up your thoughts on it?

BTW, I see that RCP has 3 Delrin Slingshots in stock! ...along with several VF dig units.

I can tell you that hands down a absolute marvel. It is very well built and thought out. The TVP plates are beefy the convex skid is also a great idea that works. Suspension geometry is dead nuts,I got zero torque steer or twist(I'm running a 35t warrior) . I think they took some of the good attributes of the GC chassis and Black Jack and added some of their own ideas and nailed it.

Does the chassis alone make that big a difference??

imo the chassis does make i difference, it is the base for your link geometry, it's also a very narrow chassis as well and the convex skid is a nice touch.

Hmm. I'm trying to make a chassis for myself and the only thing I want to try is a vertical shock orientation. All the 1:1 crawlers I see are running shocks straight up and down. I see what I'm going to do with my links, but I'm wondering about the shocks. Any opnions?

we are talking about a 2.2 right...scale is scale but weight is a totally different deal. Rc's are not scale to weight so that being said the 2.2 shocks can be mounted to your liking. I prefer mine full droop thats not gonna happen 1:1

I'm running my own home-built chassis with shocks about 1/2 way between factory position & vertical. I'm using the Integy MSR-10 shocks upside down in a full droop configuration. I think I'd do a bit better with just enough spring at the top to soak up a little bit of the bump, but it handles pretty well. Another thing (other than chassis) that makes a big difference is the lower link mounting position. I have mine mounted at the chassis pretty close to center (using a Stage 3 skid plate), and then pretty wide at the axle. I have eliminated the torque twist, and I no longer lift the right front tire on steep climbs. I would prefer to have the convex skid, but I just can't bring myself to part with the money just yet.

I like the design of the VF chassis more than any other on the market, though...and it looks prettier than mine!

If I can get off my lazy arse, I'll take some pics of mine & post up a thread on it.
