Tried a little experiment with my stiff *** tires that came on Jeep I'm ripping apart and building into something better.

I sprayed them with WD-40 and a little PB Blaster to get them to soften up. Well it worked... I little too well. I should've hung the tires instead of laying them flat. The I should've remembered that I sprayed them and not checked them 2 days later. Aparantly it does soften the rubber quite nicely and now I have a huge gash in the tire where it ate all the way thru. :bash::bash::bash:

So the newb question is, 1.9-2.2 What do these refer to? I need to figure out what size mine are to get some more tires. I know my rims and tires are larger than the 2.2. My tires measure 5.5" tall 2.25" wide, Rims are 2.75" diameter by 1.875" wide (Outisde of rim) or 1.375" to inside of rim where Bead sits.

Another issue maybe that My beads may not be the same as the big dollartires/Wheels. :( so I may need to find a replacement set. These are off a New bright.

Other Option, The Axle shaft is a 1/4" hex. What are Other rims, Maybe I could swap out rims and tires? Hell, I could fab something up to match other rims I guess.

2.2 and 1.9 refer to the diameter of the wheel... like a 15 inch wheel... or a 16 inch wheel.

Just took a look at Jims Axial, and the wheel mounting is a MUCH larger hex. I'll have to see if I can figure out a way to adapt the two together. I'm thinking that If I get lucky, I might can tap thread on my shaft that I can run a nut onto that is the same size as the Hex on the 2.2 rims.... hhhhmmmmm

I think you might be looking a a 14mm hex.Axials are 12mm. They do make 12-14 mm adapters...hope this helps

12-14mm is what I was looking at on Jim's Axial, but the 1/4" (6-7mm) is what the shaft is on my axel. so I need to adapt it up in size from 1/4" (6-7mm) WTFever it is up to 12-14mm whatever I end up with in wheels.

You can always get the 12mm hexes and clamp them in a vise. Drill out the center of the hexes with a 9/32 drill bit, and setscrew them to your shafts. If the hole through the wheel is too small drill it out too, it dosent have to be perfect, you can make it a little bigger than the hole in the hexes. You have the cross pin like behind the axial hexes?
