If a few of us get together and ride together it wouldn't cost quite as much since we could split the fuel. Gas isn't going to be cheap anywhere but it would be cheaper if it were spit multiple ways. I am already off work that week so I would love to go but I am not up for it by myself. I hope they end up with a scale run after the comp as well.

My problem is I do not get my July schedule until the 24th of June...but it is still possible. I will talk to my entertainment director and see whats on her schedule then.

Oh that is cool, I just seen entertainment director and thought dang is he an actor? :finger1: Joke
No, I would rather drive myself as well. Maybe a few more guys will post up and want to come along as well. We need to find someone that has a big, fuel ecnomical car that we could take. I can get about 4 good size guys in my truck (00 Chevrolet ex-cab Z-71) needless to say I wouldn't have anywhere to put our gear if it were to rain on the way if we had four people inside.

I thought about going, but it's on a weekend that my wife is off work. There's just too few of those through the summer & we promised to take the kids to an amusement park...looks like that ended up more important than a huge 2.2 comp.

OK guys sounds like we have some interest. I might could borrow my wife's van for the weekend as long as you guys don't mind riding in a minivan. :finger1: We could seat six comfortably and still have the rear hatch for all of our gear. I know gas will be extremely high by then but if we can five or six people to go we can split it and it shouldn't be that bad. Keep the interest and comments coming.

hey guys;
I will be going to this, but I have no idea about traveling with people. I might pick up some work on the way up and on the way back.
Rene
If you guys want to go sign up ASAP, I thing there are only 25ish spots left (out of 60)

I was told just yesterday by Waggy that I should attend this Comp. For some reason he wants to see me get my azz handed to me or he thinks I have a shot at placing in this thing. I think I'm being setup. I know my stuff works real good but I aint the only fella with a crawler that works well thats for sure. And there should be some nice stuff at this comp. It would be interesting to see how my stuff stacks up against that caliber of Competition. I should have the bugs worked out of the New trucks by then. And I think my driving is good enough to compete. But Ohio is a long way for me. It took my wife and I 10 hr. last time we went.

I am game if you guys are.
Just let me know. I went to an August Scale Comp two years ago and it was the most fun, memorable time I have had while being in the hobby. I have always enjoyed road trips. :thumb:

Dang man you have a good way of being a jackass don't you? :finger1: WTF does it matter to you if I go or not? If I want to go I will if not I won't. I can't think of a reason why it should effect you either way.

Wow guys, I don't think he meant it the way you are taking it.
Big comp or little comp were still the same people just trying to be social and competitive at the same time.
It would have been fun if we all could of went up there as a group!

Hey
Yes I meant it like I said it. (although, I have no idea why this would offend you)
I was very excited to have many people from NC at this comp. And people say they are going. And then NOTHING. Just like Nationals last year. I was the only one that bothered to go.
HP, I am asking the question because I would love to hang with you and others that are from NC. Why does this question shock you? You announced your intentions and have not enterred.
So basically you guys are saying your not going now?????

LOL, I have not had a chance to watch the video.
The Rodney King vid is my feeling too.
HP, you have heard me say worse, thank you for sticking up for me in the past, eventhough I have never seen any results of your efforts.
To answer the question, "Why does he care if we go?"
That is a simple answer 3 point answer;
- I am going because of this thread and the hopes to hang with some local crawlers
- If I know who is going, I will know what rigs go, and I can bring spare parts so that I can help someone if they break
- I was hoping to have hotels near each other to be social at night
HP, I am sorry that I expected for your to understand the tone of my post. I was wrong.
The question is still open; who is going?

It is cool Rene. It just hit me wrong last night and I know how you are so I should have taken it lightly. It is no big deal. Done and over with. :thumb:
As for the comp I would love to go but I can't afford to drive all the way out there and back by myself. Fuel cost alone would be much more expensive than the trip is worth to me. I thought I had few of my buddies that would go but both of them have backed out. I started this thread in hopes that maybe three or four of us could get together and go and split the fuel cost, hotel expense etc. With that said I guess I am out unless a few more people want to go.

You guys have fun, and make us proud. I won't be traveling 8 hours anywhere to run my trucks. I'm just not that competitive anymore, I followed the paintball curcuit in the south west for almost 10 years and I swore when I left it I wouldn't let a hobby dictate my schedule. I'm gonna stick to our little local gatherings.

hey Cajun;
I hear ya, I am fortunate that I can schedule work anywhere I need to go. So I can work on the waythere and do some work after the comp in Indy.
I did the same for Nationals last year, worked in Miss. on the way out and Ky on the way back. (that was still a hard drive)

That makes it easy. It's not work so much for me as the other things I enjoy in my free time. I tend these day to not plan weekends and just do things on a whim, i.e. ride my motorcycle up to the mountains, bash my fast movers, spend the day being lazy, ya know? I'll leave the serious comps and the road trips to you young boys. ;)
Now I could be down with a Camp-n-Crawl up at Hanging Rock or someplace, something like that could be a lot of fun.
