Comp With Prizes??

Just wanted to let the masses know - the owner of the hobby shop I work for is interested in putting on a comp up here at Battle Park. He's got connections at Horizon Hobby and they like to provide prizes for big events and I think this would be our shot at getting an R/C publication to do even coverage for Eastern Crawlers. I'd like to see a Summer Crawl or something and get word out and pull some people from other states. We could definately do it for a large group of us on this forum, but I'd like to see a big turnout for this. Anybody up for rules and entry fees to have 1 big shindig like this? No hard and fast dates yet, but by August for sure. If I could get some definate commitments I'd like to get something organized. Let me know what you think......

He charges $15 to race the oval - I don't see him charging more than that. And I would hope to see some NCRCC banners!! We're trying to get some exposure here... I'm suprized I can't get a t-shirt. I'm almost a waking billboard, be proud to wear it.

I think I will work on the T Shirt thing...

The big thing about trying to reach the masses... your reaching out side your typical drive folks... with gas prices, it will put a damper on things... for me... it would cost 60 dollars round trip... If i get 2 more folks to ride... well thats 20 bucks...plus lunch... plus the comp... so we are back to the almost 60 bucks... just to compete...

5 bucks is a good price, if you can get 25 plus folks to come out. or early registration is 5 bucks and after a certian date its 10.

Thats just my take on this... maybe pull out another 5 bucks for a different class if you have a super or something...

Once you get some dates and such... get me some info... I will make a banner and put it in a roation on the site... And I will work on those shirts!

10-4. This is the input I need to make this happen. Wanna see how many folks would be interested in this, like I said we'll get a distributor involved. I know at the fly-ins he has transmitters, engines, kits, and lots of misc stuff. People put in $15 and usually leave with at least $20 worth of stuff - and that about 75% of the people, but there's usually 50 guys or so at the fly ins, so a good turnout is important.

yeah... offering a goodies bag or something for each person to sign up... well that would help...

If you go this route, let me know.. I can get some Koozies or keychains with my site made up on it, plus stickers to throw in ;) (always thinking of myself!)

If you can get folks like Axial, Proline, and some of the other larger Venders to help sponser..... and they can throw out prizes, plus have drawing for those who don't compete (for lesser prizes, koozies, keychains, stickers, t shirts) then charging a little more might not be as bad...

If you need a tech guy at the comp and someone to photo and video it all, I can do it!
