Hey - my name is Chris Miller, Charlotte native :D I found out about this site from Uroplatus on Carolina Rock Crawlers. I recognize a lot of the names here from other sites, RCCrawlers and Carolinas RC, etc. I'm also one of the original four that started a group that ended up as the Queen City Bashers (www.QueenCityBashers.com) - check out our forums too!

I decided to give crawling a try a few months ago, mainly from the videos I saw posted at Carolinas RC forums. I did a bit of reading and ended up with a Wheely King. Over a few weeks I did some mods to get it crawling - reversed and stretched the chassis, mounted the servo on the axle, replaced the steering links, etc. I had so much fun with it on trails and in the woods that I decided to keep it as a trail runner and ordered an AX10 for more serious crawling. I recently finished mounting the electronics in a waterproof box, at least I hope it is.. first test of it will be today.

I put the CKRC stage 2 kit in the AX10 as I assembled it, mounted the stock tires on some Proline 8 shooters, I have some badlands on order. I'm really impressed with the AX10, it's an awesome rig! I see from the pictures here that they are popular with you guys too.

Anyway I was just looking for some people to crawl with, and some good locations in the area. We have three others in the QCB group that recently finished their crawlers and should be getting together soon. Looking forward to meeting some of you!

No it seems that everything survived the water fine! I unwrapped everything when I got home and looked it over, all dry. That's a lot of fun being able to go through water and mud like that, obviously it's not a great crawler though. I'm just keeping it as is for messing around.

I have an AX10 too, stripped the spur gear within a few minutes of getting there today so it sat in the truck. I really wanted to try it out on those rocks, that's the most challenging place I've been to. You guys have some nice rigs, and obviously a lot more time behind the wheel than I do. Looking forward to doing it again sometime - I'd like to check out the Mooresville place you were talking about, it's closer to home for me.
