I posted this on RCCRawler.com I hope that I can get this resolved.....
I purchased a Tekin FXR about a month ago and tonight while crawling my ax10 fell on its side..I mean fell...not hard just flopped over and I tried to reverse to get back on all 4's and nothing. The speed controller makes a high pitch whining sound continuously unless you press the mode button and it goes into programing mode. I have checked the motor , battery , and radio. I even tried the Tekin on another stock AX10. Its just dead other than the noise it makes and being able to get into the programing mode. PLEASE HELP ME!!!! Do you guys think it might be the capacitor? I used a voltmeter to measure things. I dont know what its supposed to be but I am getting 8v out and 8v in...I dont understand why it isnt working. It only makes the whining sound when its connected to the motor. It also doesnt make the boot up chime that it used to. This thing is very new and I was very happy with its performance until now. Any info would be super

If any of you guys have any info let me know.....I am going crazy here.

you have it mounted on the axle right? via servo tape or what?

Did it knock it loose? is there visible damage?

I would see if you can get annother capasitor... but I know in the past, this is only to make it smooth, and to cut back on glitches on power increase and decrease... Try swapping it out...

Where did you buy it? KC?

It was mounted up top ....I moved it from the axle because I was afraid it would get bashed..lol. But yes I bought it @ KC's...they ordered it for me....NO visable damage nothing...it didnt even make a sound it was like I cut my DX3r off...it just quit working ...I hope its the capacitor...I wonder if thats under warranty.

I am thinking that they would cover it under warranty since there is no visible damage... strange but a hard impact could do this i would guess.

thats whats odd...it wasnt a hard impact @ all....it didnt even roll all the way over...one of the tires got caught on a rock and stopped...I dont know what to do...I hate that it happened...I cant help but wonder if I should buy that castle MM motor/esc combo that Kc has there......I think I will also change the cap out if I can get TEKIN to confirm it wont mess with the warranty

I thought the FXR would be the shizzle ...kinda makes me scared to buy anything else...still pissed about it. No replies on the big board...that pisses me off too...I hate it when you are in the middle of crawling and your shizzle breaks:bash::bash:

Well I got a response from TEKIN...this is the PM that was sent to me:

Hi Matt,

It sounds like your FX-R lost the drivers for the FET banks. If you have tried a different motor (that's where the chimes come from) then I would say it is probably a good idea for you to send it back to us to check out. It is still under warranty, so you will have no charges except the shipping to us. If it is un-repairable, I will send you a NIB FX-R as soon as I can.

To send your FX-R in for warranty work, print and fill out our service form located @ www.teamtekin.com/service.html

Provide your receipt, it is necessary for warranty work. Then just ship it to me and we'll take care of the rest!

Thanks!

Kirby is pretty good about takeing care of things like that. I had a servo that died 30 seconds into my first real run with my rig, he took it back no questions asked...

I thought about that...but they dont have any in stock and they special ordered it for me so I figured that I was on my own about it. Maybe you could work your magic Silas and see what they can do..:D...hehe

Silas

well if they special ordered it... then I would just go with the tekin support then...

Its all going to take about the same amount of time.

Not really... but I have seen more questions on how to set up and configure CC stuff over Novak. I have been using Novak for over 15 years, and never really had an issue with them.

I have read where the Goat burns up easily, but I haven't read anything about the Rooster.
