I thought I would share with this. I believe either he is VERY good or he hasnt changed his rig and got lots of practice with the same setup...or BOTH.

hey
That was Kamakazee. He did not get through that gate the day of the comp. The comp day is the first time he saw that rock.
He is very good. The rig is a Berg with a Zero Delrin chassis. He belongs to SERCRC.
PS: On comp day I got the progress point for that gate, but timed out on that course. Kamakazee bumped me by 3 points to keep me from getting into the top 5 shotout. I finished 6th on the day (Mike (Rockshow)) finished 10th) there were between 50 and 60 trucks at this event.

Well I am impressed you got a progress point on that gate. Im guessing your method was a little different than what he attempted. Thanks for the real info update.
meh.......ive got skills like that with a shafty and no dig

hey there
I got through the gate but I took out the top marker.
The only truck to make it through this gate without penalty was a shafty without dig. That was the only truck that made it all day.
Looking at the West Coast Deal, shafties are not a disadvantage, the top 5 were:
2x Berg
2x AX-10
1x TLT
At the Ohio event I think the top 5 were four Bergs and one AX-10.

Congrats on the 6th place though...was that the hardest gate of the comp? or was all the gates that hard..

hey there
That was the gate that got most people. The 20 point bypass rule was not used at this comp. So if you did not get through the gate, it was the end of the course. There were plenty of other hard gates that people hit, but there were ways to at least get the progress point.
The problem was that there were many holes to fall into, this was not a natural course but a bunch of crushed, excavaded rocks pushed into a ridge.
The event ran well and I learned some stuff, I had spent 10 min on the new radio before the event and the same amount of time driving the truck (I had been waiting to get the new wheels). I have already torn it appart and will build something a little more capable this week.
