Hey guys, 8/24, This SUNDAY I'm trying to setup some local comps in the rocky mount/wilson area. We are starting off with a Get together to round up some more people to compete. Come on out and see why rocky mount got its name. If we have enough people the GTG might just turn into a comp. I got 3 or 4 courses, 10 gates each, planned out just in case. I know there has to be some crawlers in greenville and raleigh, come on out........

I'm going to try to get some pics up, if you guys saw the area you would love it. Mainly smooth slick river rock at end of the tar river. But, I know its worthless talking about it without pictures !

Posted up the same tread on rccrawler.com , hoping for a good turn out. If it turns out well, it will be either a $2 comp (winner takes all) OR prize for 1st place (crawler body or axial upgrade, still need to talk to LHS owner on that one). Must have good turn out to turn into a comp get prizes available. THIS SUNDAY ! < COME ON OUT >

well I'm glad you guys like the pics. Its a shame it 3 hours to the charlotte area. I almost drove out there for the pilot mnt. $2 comp, but gas $$$ are crazy. I just need some more people to crawl with, and some comp worthy rigs to compete against. some locals running rtr ax10's aren't even a challange to out crawl. I need someone to challange my driving skill before I lose interest in crawling all together

Its a perfect comp area ! BUT, it seem like no one around here locally wants to compete. Its driving me nuts. Today, I drove 2.5 hours to VA. to compete with the VARCOR guys. WHY aren't there any comp going on in NC ? Oh, placed 4th In my first comp. right behind swell searcher on RCC,just had to brag!!! It was a great organized club event.

I really, really want to go to another comp (or gtg, or anything) but I live in Greensboro and just bought an old 4x4 pickup that has some issues. I don't trust it for long distances yet, so I'm kinda stuck here with no where to crawl! This sucks!

Hey can someone post a link to the exact location on maps.google.com or mapquest.com because I am a little slow and have tried to find this place but cant seem to get an address. I found 1308 Falls Road, Rocky Mount, NC through google but when I mapquest it I dont think its right and mapquest isnt 100% reliable.

One of these weekends I will make time since it should be less than an hour away from my house.

hey J33, i'll get an address for you. I'll have to drive by there or do a little research. Its really easy to get to, 30min drive once your on 64. 64 east to exit 468B. the exit is pointed straight at the park,But You got to know the park to find the good rocks....... Pm me anytime you want to make the drive over. I'll see if I can drag out another local or two... It seem like all the nc crawlers are out west. I really want to go to the pilot mnt. comp but,a 3 hour drive is not going to happen that weekend. Where are all the **** eastside crawlers ???

I have yet to find a good spot that has it all but I hear falls dam area has some good rocks. I need to make it out there one of these days.

Here is a quote in the NC section on RCC
The best and greatest choice for a place to crawl for anyone near raleigh or apex and cary would be Haw river. Hwy 64 west, cross Jordan lake, and as soon as you cross the haw river bridge, hang a u turn and cross back over and turn on the little access on the east side of the river. I can't stress enough how sweet this place is.
